# How is my food prep time factored into rider booking?

Once an order is accepted, our system will immediately start looking for a rider unless the order preparation time is set to more than 17 minutes. If prep time is more than 17 minutes, we begin looking for a rider [Prep time - 17 minutes] after the order is accepted. This is because it takes 17 minutes on average for a rider to arrive at the pickup point from the time we start looking. So if an order is accepted at 12:00pm, and the prep time is set to 30 minutes, our system will begin looking for a rider at 12:13pm.

You can adjust your Menu default prep time by going to Menu > Menus > select the menu you want to edit > edit Default preparation time
